Camera keeps scrolling after the cursor has left the game window

Reported by: barra_parpg Owned by: beliar
Priority: major Milestone: Release: Techdemo 2
Component: scripts Version: trunk
Keywords: camera, scrolling, window mode Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Department:

Description

How to reproduce

  • Start PARPG in windowed mode
  • Move the mouse cursor out of the game window

Expected result

The camera should actually scroll into this direction if the cursor is near one specific side of the game window. However the camera should stop to scroll once the mouse cursor leaves the game window.

Actual result

The camera keeps scrolling even after leaving the game window. Once you move the cursor back into the game window, the camera has moved to a place where it takes quite a lot of time to get it back to a point of the map where you can actually see tiles and characters.

I will work on it, note that you can press <SPACE> to center the camera on the player.

Talked to Beliar about it today and it turned out that FIFE is currently lacking functionality to actually get notified when the mouse cursor leaves the game window.

I'll forward the problem to the FIFE team and create a ticket at their trac so they can look into it.
